"When The Dance Was Done"

'When the Dance was Done'

- 2023

This piece captures the first night spent with the love of my life—after I danced at a charity gala. We were dressed to impress—high heels on, the night still young. I lined the path to the bed with rose petals.

Every detail here tells part of that story:

The heels, kicked off in passion.

The candle, still burning.

The panties, draped casually over the heel—a symbol of surrender, trust, and electricity.

The roses, hand-forged in copper, just like the ones that led the way.

This sculpture is a love letter cast in steel—a moment of vulnerability, beauty, and unforgettable connection.

"Fragile"

‘Fragille’ It’s a Major Award

Does this really need an explanation?

"Bee-Leaf in Yourself"

'Bee-Leaf in Yourself'

This sculpture marks more than a return to metal—it marks a return to myself. After a two-year pause from sculpting to tend to important family matters, Bee-Leaf in Yourself became the first spark of creative fire reignited by the encouragement of a close friend who refused to let me forget who I am at my core: a maker, a metal sculptor, a storyteller in steel.

'Love's Not Enough'

My work explores the complexities of familial relationships, memory, and emotional truth. "Love's Not Enough" is a sculptural piece rooted in personal experience, confronting the difficult realization that affection alone cannot heal generational wounds and addiction for the one's we love. Currently, I am reworking the piece to transform the representation of the mother figure—an evolution that reflects my ongoing personal and artistic growth. My goal is to develop this sculpture into a traveling installation, one that invites conversation, reflection, and emotional engagement at family-oriented events and spaces. Through this journey, I aim to create art that resonates across shared human experiences of love, pain, and reconciliation.

'Guardians of the Water'

My first 3D sculpture in 2017 dove into the mythic depths of the sea, where mermaids rise not as fantasy, but as fierce, fluid guardians of the natural world. Sculpted with intention and wonder, Guardians of the Water  honors the strength, mystery, and resilience of water spirits—echoing our own need to protect the oceans and the life they cradle.

"I Miss You"

I’m a veteran.
I made this sculpture not just for the fallen, but for the ones left behind. It’s meant to be seen through three sets of eyes:

• A spouse who misses their partner.

• A child who misses their parent.

• A veteran who misses their innocence.

This is the cost of war that no one talks about. Not in headlines. Not in politics. But we carry it—every day.

'One Last Letter'

This piece was created over the course of a year as a memorial urn for my mother. Every element was crafted with intentional care and love: 502 individually sculpted and mounted roses, each requiring approximately two hours to complete, form the outer surface—a symbol of her patience, beauty, and unwavering support. Inside the urn are 36 copper roses and 9 butterflies, each one hand-drawn by her grandchildren and carefully transferred to copper, preserving their love and memories in metal. Hidden within is a compartment that holds a personal letter—filled with all the words I never said but always meant. This work is not only a vessel of remembrance but a gesture of gratitude and grief, devotion and healing. My mother was a perfect mom, and this piece is a reflection of her profound impact on our lives.

"Don’t Forget to Dance in the Rain"

Metal Sculpture | Alzheimer’s Awareness

By Jeremy Combs Metal Sculptor

This piece is a deeply personal tribute to my father, whom I cared for over the last seven years of his life as he battled Alzheimer’s disease. The title reflects both the sorrow and the strength that comes with caregiving—finding moments of grace, beauty, and even joy amid the storm. Four years ago, I began ballroom dancing. My instructor shared that she became a professional dancer because daily dancing can improve the odds against cognitive decline. That insight stayed with me and became a quiet act of hope woven into my life—and now, into this sculpture. Crafted in metal, a material both enduring and expressive, Don’t Forget to Dance in the Rain serves as a reminder: even in the face of fading memories, we can choose to move with resilience, connection, and light.

'The Agape'

A portable metal gazebo I created as a space to share candlelight dinners, celebrate love, and mark meaningful moments. Designed to propose under—and with hope, for a few to be married beneath—The Agape draws its name from the Ancient Greek word signifying the highest form of love: selfless, unconditional, and transcendent.

Annual Metal Rose Workshop at

Laurel Oaks Welding Lab

2025

Each year, just before Valentine’s Day, I return to Laurel Oaks Welding Lab to lead a special workshop with welding students—teaching them how to sculpt metal roses by hand. This hands-on experience introduces students to the creative and artistic side of metalwork, showing them that welding isn’t just industrial—it’s expressive. By shaping steel into something symbolic and beautiful, these young welders gain a new perspective on their craft, and often discover a passion they didn’t know they had.
